ABOUT ME
David Dixon was born in London in 1969. He is now Brighton-based.
From an early age, photography was a love and is now his specialism and passion. At the age of eight he won his first photography prize; when tasked with photographing his friends, he refused and instead focused on rocks.

Following studying Fine Art, David went on to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Educational Theory at London College of Fashion and a Garden Design Diploma at Capel Manor. In his early career, he honed skills and knowledge working as a Special Effects film cameraman on major Hollywood films and UK animation films.
Since 2000, David has worked in the photography medium as an architectural/model/commercial/drone photographer. He is represented by Getty, has had work published in magazines and has shown at group exhibitions in Brighton and London.
David combines his photography with other audio/visual mediums, creating interactive installation pieces, 3D projections and visuals for clubs, festivals and shows. Alongside this he is developing a garden design business with projects designed and built across London and the South East. He co-founded Tower Hamlets Beekeeping, a non-profit organisation and co-founded Brighton Bees. These occupations have been major influencers of his fine art photography practice.
David’s work is varied in style, thought and ideas which draws from his life in the middle of urban London chaos by being like a tube system mapped different directions, sometimes in circles. However, he gets drawn to silence wherever he is and if this means emptiness in an urban world, that’s like a magnet to his camera and soul.
